Dr. Shanti Wu

Dr. Shanti Wu was born in Central Java, Indonesia and raised in Southern California. She has been fortunate to experience a multifaceted upbringing, which was influenced by western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Indonesian Healing therapies. This compelled her to study Anthropology at the University of California Irvine where she earned her bachelors degree with a focus in Cultural Health Practices and a minor in Psychology.  She then continued to pursue her passion in the field of Chinese Medicine and obtained both her Master’s degree and her Doctorate degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego.

During her graduate work, Shanti traveled to Sichuan Province in China in the spring of 2007 to receive additional didactic training at the University of Chengdu of Traditional Chinese Medicine and clinical training at Chengdu University Hospital specializing in dermatology and respiratory disorders. She is now a licensed acupuncturist certified in the state of California and is CNT certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She is a member of CSOMA and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Before opening her second location of practice, Shanti worked closely with and was mentored by an esteem practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Helen Hu, OMD.

In her spare time, Shanti is an active volunteer in her community as a tutor for Carmel Valley Homework helpers and English conversation groups with International Students. She is a devoted wife and mother.
